WordPress Website Health Check
Is your website in good shape?
Has your WordPress website been running for a while without much maintenance? Are you unsure whether your plugins are up to date, whether your hosting is suitable, or whether there are security issues you should know about?
Perhaps you’ve inherited a website from someone else, or you simply want to know whether everything is working as it should.
I can carry out a health check to assess the technical state of your website, identify potential problems and explain what needs attention. I’ll look at things such as outdated software, known security vulnerabilities, unsupported plugins and themes, and aspects of your hosting environment.
You’ll receive a straightforward report explaining my findings, highlighting any concerns and recommending practical next steps. Where possible, I’ll explain which issues are straightforward to address and which may require more substantial work.
The aim is to give you a clearer picture of your website’s condition, so you can make informed decisions about what to do next.

Health Check
WordPress Website Health Check
Understand your website’s condition and what needs attention.
₤40 – One-hour assessment and report
An initial technical assessment of your WordPress website, carried out by an experienced WordPress specialist.
What’s included?
- WordPress updates — check whether WordPress core, your active theme and plugins are up to date.
- Outdated and unsupported software — identify themes or plugins that are no longer maintained or supported.
- Security review — check for known vulnerabilities in the WordPress software, themes and plugins in use.
- Hosting environment — review relevant hosting details and settings that may affect your website’s security, compatibility or reliability.
- General website health — identify other obvious technical concerns encountered during the assessment.
- Written report — a summary of the findings, any issues identified and recommendations for next steps.
What happens next?
I’ll explain my findings in plain English and help you understand which issues deserve attention first.
If a problem is straightforward to resolve and there’s sufficient time within the service, I may be able to address it during the assessment. More substantial repairs, software upgrades or security work will fall outside the scope of the health check.
There’s no obligation to book further work with me. You’ll have the information you need to decide how you’d like to proceed.
The assessment is limited to one hour. If your website requires more extensive investigation, I’ll explain what’s involved and agree any additional costs with you before proceeding.

No surprise bills
If I find something that needs more work than your plan covers, we’ll discuss the options to fix the problem.
Does the health check include a security audit?
The health check includes a review of the WordPress core, themes and plugins for outdated software and known vulnerabilities, along with checks of relevant aspects of the hosting environment. It is a general technical assessment rather than a comprehensive security audit or penetration test, and it cannot guarantee that every vulnerability or security issue will be identified.
When is a health check useful?
A health check can be particularly helpful if your website hasn’t been maintained for some time, you’ve taken over a website built by someone else, or you want an independent assessment before deciding what to do next.
It can also be a useful first step if you’re considering ongoing WordPress maintenance but aren’t sure what condition your website is currently in.
